friday aug 22 2008 iam at the comfort inn at a place called canton north carolina on interstate 40 its been an easy ride since crossing the great smokey mountains its a beautiful day in the state of north carolina the blueridge mountains are beautiful iam about 13 miles from ashville north carolina and the blueridge parkway here is something crazy yesterday i went into this sports bar to order a drink the bartender said i will serve you pone you have had enough i replied i havent had a drink i just crossed the smokey mountains for some reason she didnt believe me i ssaid a few choice words to her and left i hadnt even had a drink i guess my bicycle journey clothes were not nice enough for her bar it was a beautiful and easy ride today from here i will ride the blueridge parkway to front royal virginia where it ends i was able to ride the interstate the 13 miles to here i will probanley spend a couple days here the bicycle needs tuned up and i need another backpack its about 400 miles on the parkway to front royal virginia
