the lost soldier

the date today is tuesday secember 18 2007 ans iam on hwy 18 north in elkhart michigan my directions from here are as follows i take 19 north to 12 west to niles michigan from there 31 north as i make my way into the upper-pennsula of michigan its been a chilly day today and this bicycle cant handle the ice very well its a chrome-molly steel frame schhhwinn its a good bike but its real icy the other day i hit black ice and crashed real good my shoulder is still sore it i hadnt of had my back-pack on i would of busted my shoulder my back-pack took most of the fall i was going to go directly from here into illinois but i would like to make an honest attempt at getting matts picture in the newspaper for christmas its finally starting to chill off pretty good i can now start wearing the winter gear i began to prepare for along time ago iam geared for weather below zero iam kind of anxious to see to how much differently the church people treat me as the weather gets extremely cold today in this town i talked to what i call a charasmatic salvation freak pastor that is a group of people who do so much talking about jesus but you dont dsee much in there action and that was typical here see rather then let me pitch a tent on church property he stated go to the shelter i told hin i didnt need a shelter i just needed a place to pitch my tent when you get in the small towns with no rescue missions to dump things off on they either help or not ive recieved very little help from the assemblies of god or the charasmatic churchs the methodist episcoplain luthern and catholic people have been by far the most compassionate iam also anxious to see how i get treated in the bars iam willing to bet i get more help as far as places to sleep this winter from people in bars then i do church its really been a beautiful day its good and brisk but i will see if i can possibly find some christian people who respect my journey enough to help me come up with a mountain bike i hope if carolyn maupin she accepts my apolagy for all that went on during the last couple months iam sure she didnt even want to know what i had to say or if i even managed to get her sons picture in the paper this new web-site has taken alot of tension and stress off me will matt be worthy of a newspaper between now and christmas i will try like hell to get it done the uppsr-pennsula of michigan is next
